The Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a full-time, academic year, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Basic Medical Sciences. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an extramurally-funded research program in PVM focused on the emerging applications of data analysis in complex multidimensional clinical and biological context. We seek an individual able to deploy and integrate data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence methods within the context of a broader computational life sciences research agenda. The successful candidate will also be expected to teach in the College’s graduate and professional programs.
Candidates must possess a Ph.D. degree in computational biology or related field and have relevant postdoctoral experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability or potential to acquire independent and collaborative funding and have a record of peer-reviewed publications. We are especially interested in candidates whose research will advance the College’s strategic research focus areas of infectious disease and immunology; cancer; neuroscience; musculoskeletal biology and orthopedics; and animal welfare science, and who will advance the University’s Integrative Data Science Initiative (https://www.purdue.edu/data-science/).
