Bas is passionate about employee well-being with a particular focus on prevention. His research focuses on identifying and understanding various occupational risk factors such as sickness absenteeism and work stress using a biopsychosocial lens. In his recent work, he examined the psychosocial well-being of various occupational groups (e.g., healthcare, education) during the COVID-19 pandemic. He values a multidisciplinary approach in research through meaningful collaborations and applies various research methods, including knowledge synthesis (e.g., meta-analyses), qualitative and quantitative designs. Presently, Bas is particularly interested in understanding the psychological impact of moral injury in veterinary care.
