Ruminant nutrition is where most of my research ultimately links to and that ranges from pasture-based production systems for dairy, beef, and sheep, to how and why nutrients go where they do, once inside the animal. I’ve published in areas such as fetal growth in sheep, utilisation of unusual forages such as edible trees and shrubs like Leucaena and Tagasaste and their associated anti-nutritional factors, mineral nutrition of dairy cows as it relates to metabolic disease states and bone health, utilisation of grains by cattle, and the use of remote-sensing technologies to improve animal welfare and productivity
